The production of active pharmaceutical ingredients using biotechnological processes, including genetic engineering, is a young, dynamically developing branch of the industry.

In the area of Red Biotechnology, Linde can provide a wide range of first-class references, including the already classic biotechnology, e. g. antibiotics production and stereo-specific steroid transformation as well as conventional plants for vaccines, recombinant insulin and large-scale protein fractionation from human blood plasma. In addition, we offer state-of-the-art plants for innovative top products, such as recombinant human insulin, erythropoietin or monoclonal antibodies for cancer therapy and diagnostics. We construct such plants based on customer-owned processes or the technologies of established licensers.
