Plants for the Industrial Biotechnology

Application of tools of nature for the industrial production is referred to as the Industrial or White Biotechnology. It becomes more and more important for trade in general, in particular for the chemical industry, for the food and animal feed industry, for the cosmetics, textile and paper industry. In times as crude oil and natural gas resources become scarcer and prices go up, alternative starting materials based on renewable raw material play a key role. Effective technologies on the basis of microorganisms and enzymes are available to the Industrial Biotechnology, thus facilitating an economical use of renewable raw materials for further processing to a great variety of intermediate and final products.

In this context, Linde Engineering has concentrated the activities in the field of Industrial Biotechnology in the Biotechnology Competence centre of Linde-KCA-Dresden GmbH. Consequently, an powerful and competent planner and contractor for all types of projects including large-scale projects worldwide is available to clients of the Industrial resp. White Biotechnology.
