Study Based on Client's Request

What was the idea of the client?
The client‘s idea was to have a customized concept for an add-on plant to produce liquid nitrogen out of the surplus feed from his existing plant. The existing plant itself has a limited liquid oxygen and nitrogen production capacity.

How the Linde specialists worked out the study?
The surplus feed for the add-on plant was analyzed. The client’s idea was to use gaseous nitrogen product and Lachman gas surplus (impure nitrogen) in a combined purifier-liquefier unit. The client’s intention was to produce liquid product as shown in the LPC Array (black).A conceptual design study of a customized add-on plant resulted in a production range as shown in the LPC Array (red).
The solution developed provided the advantage of a wide range of production flexibility.

In addition this tailor made solution was compared with a standard Linde liquefier (green). Product flexibility is not as high as in the customized solution. However the LPC-Array proves that by using the flexibility of both the existing plant and the standard add-on, the results fully satisfy the client‘s requirements.
This new solution would cost approximately 30% less than the tailor made plant.
