In cracking furnaces raw materials are converted such as ethane, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), naphtha, atmospheric gas oil (AGO) and hydrocracker residue into ethylene and valuable by-products.
In cracking furnaces, cracked gases are produced after quenching and delivered to the separation train via a cracked gas line, from where the cracked gas can be separated into individual products.
Modern cracking furnaces have capacities of over 250,000 MTA of ethylene and fired duties of over 100 MW per furnace.
Linde Engineering has the proprietary furnace technology that utilises the latest coil geometry and metallurgy as well ultra-low NOx burner technology and catalytic DeNOx systems to keep emissions as low as possible. Our furnaces can be designed for a single feedstock or for two or more feedstocks, supporting endpoints of up to 580°C.
